Captain’s Picks for 13th Presidents Cup 2019 Golf

We have been waiting for the Presidents Cup 2019 captain’s pick.

Els made his pick for the international team on November 6 and Legend Tiger Woods announced his pick for the USA team on November 8.

As we have seen in previous tournaments each captain makes two picks. This year, both captains picked 4 more players for their team, which has happened for the first time in the history of the Presidents Cup.

Captains Pick for USA Team

USA team captain Tiger Woods has announced 4 additional players on 8th November.

Wood’s picks are Tony Finau, Patrick Reed, Gary Woodland including himself.

So fans, Tiger Woods is playing this year presidents cup golf tournament.

He becomes the second player in Presidents Cup history as playing captain.

Tony Finau

This year Tony will participate in his first-ever Presidents Cup. He narrowly missed the automatic qualifying spot and Tiger Woods giving him a chance to prove himself.

Finau won one PGA Tour and a Korn Ferry Tour. He also participated in the 2018 Ryder cup and completed it at 2-1-0 record. This year’s President’s Cup tournament will be a great opportunity for him to show courage.

Patrick Reed

29 years old Reed is an American professional golfer. His current position is no.12. This will be his third consecutive President cup.

Patrick won 7 PGA tours and 2 European tours. He won Masters Tournament in 2018 and become 4th in the US Open in the same year. His highest ranking was 7 in official world golf ranking. He is known for match-play prowess, who has participated in every Ryder cup since 2014.

Gary Woodland

2019 US open winner Gary is having pick season in his golf career. This will be his debut to the Presidents Cup after the successful PGA tour. This 35 years old golfer won 4 PGA titles. He is known for the longest hitting. Woodland would add value to the US team.

Captains Pick for International Team

International team captain Ernie Els has chosen Jason Day, Adam Hadwin, Sungjae Im and Joaquín Niemann.

Jason Day

Sungjae Im

Adam Hadwin

32 years old Canadian golfer Adam has been selected for Presidents Cup 2019. He won one PGA tour and 2 Korn Ferry Tour. Hadwin is currently holding 9th position in international ranking and a potential player for the international team.

Joaquín Niemann

Joaquín is another young player under the age of 22 from Chile playing 2019 Presidents Cup. He just started his professional career and holding the 28th position. He is former number one player in amateur and has one PGA title in his basket.
