Who is playing in the Presidents Cup 2019?

2019 Presidents Cup is going to be played between two teams. It will be played between United States Team vs International Team.

How is the Presidents Cup team chosen?

Both team consist 12 players. In addition of 12 players, there will be 1 non-playing captain, 3 non-playing assistant captain. Among twelve players 8 of them are selected automatically and 4 players will be picked by captains.

Eight top players are chosen according to their ranking until a specific date. This year on August 18, top eight qualifiers were selected automatically.

On early November each captain will choose four more player for their team.

United States Presidents Cup Team 2019

Captain

The golf legend Tiger Woods has been selected as US Team captain.

With 81 official PGA Tour winning records, we all know the achievements he has. Woods truly deserves to be the captain.

He will play his role as a non-playing captain. He was an assistant captain in 2017.

Assistant Captains

Assistant captains will help the captain. Tiger Woods chose Fred Couples, Zach Johnson and Steve Stricker as assistant captain of the US team for 2019 Presidents Cup Golf.

Fred Couples

59 years old American Frederick Steven Couples was a former world no. 1 golfer. He has 64 professional tournaments in his bucket and winner of the Masters Tournament in 1992. He was also in the US team as a non-playing assistant captain in 2017. 

Zach Johnson

2007 Masters Winner Zachary Harris Johnson is an American professional golfer. He won the 2015 Open Championship. He has 12 PGA Tour victories including two major championships. He played against Tiger Woods several times.

Steve Stricker

52 Years old Steven Charles Stricker was US team captain in 2017 presidents cup. He will be the captain of the Ryder Cup in 2020. Unlike Zach, he also has 12 victories on the PGA Tour.

Justin Thomas

Patrick Cantlay

Xander Schauffele

Webb Simpson

Matt Kuchar
